Fairtrade Fortnight Schools Award 2017

As you start preparing for Fairtrade Fortnight 2017 in your school, you may want to start thinking about entering our Fairtrade Fortnight Schools Award! Once again, there is a cash prize for one primary school and one secondary school to spend on their future Fairtrade work. The competition is open to all primary and secondary schools and the winning primary school and winning secondary school each win £350. You don’t have to be a Fairtrade School to enter – we want to hear about events in any school.

After your event, you will need to write a narrative about what your school did, attaching any evidence like photos, samples of posters, leaflets or media coverage. Entries will be judged on the following criteria: Impact; Imagination; Educational content; Relevance to the theme.

You can download the entry form here.

You can also enter by sending us a scanned copy of your completed entry form and evidence to

The deadline for entries is 19th May 2017.

This award was started by the Tring Justice and Peace Group in 2006 in memory of Margaret Demidecka to recognize the fantastic Fairtrade Fortnight activities that take place each year in schools.
