Support Organisations

There are a number of independent organisations that can help schools on their Fairtrade journey with workshops, courses and resources around issues of development, fair trade and sustainability.

Trading Visions

Trading Visions is an educational charity based in London that was founded by farmer-owned chocolate company, Divine Chocolate. Trading Visions can come to your school to deliver an interactive workshop telling the bean to bar story of how Fairtrade cocoa gets turned into chocolate, and what your students can do to make the world a better place.

Development Education Centres in Scotland

There are Development Education Centres (DECs) in Aberdeen, Coatbridge, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness, covering all of the Scottish Local Authorities from these regional bases.

They support teachers in incorporating global citizenship in the classroom, across whole schools or learning communities.

Fair Trade Wales

Fair Trade Wales provide support for schools in Wales, including workshops for teachers on how to get the Fairtrade Schools Award.

Scottish Fair Trade Forum

The Scottish Fair Trade Forum provide support for schools in Scotland, with useful links to fair trade in the Scottish National Curriculum and links to Scottish fair trade suppliers.

fairandfunky

fairandfunky are based in Yorkshire and deliver a unique range of interactive and creative workshops for schools on key global themes including Fairtrade.

Koolskools

Koolskools supply bespoke school uniforms made with Fairtrade cotton and go into schools to deliver assemblies, workshops and lessons about Fairtrade.

Lifeworlds Learning

Lifeworlds Learning offer Fairtrade pupil workshops linked to literacy, maths, geography and SMSC and in support of global learning, eco-schools and rights respecting schools.  They also offer related staff CPD and specialise in links to values-based education.
