Fairtrade Fortnight 2021

The climate crisis is happening now.

For Fairtrade producers, this is one of their biggest challenges. Low prices for their crops mean that they are struggling to fight back.

Fairtrade gives them higher income so they can meet their everyday needs and deal with the challenges of climate change.

Climate, Fairtrade and You

This Fairtrade Fortnight, schools and families across the UK will come together to learn about, and celebrate, the people who grow our food and drink and explore the topic of ‘Climate, Fairtrade and You’. Young people will have the opportunity to discover how their choices as individuals can make a difference to the lives of people around the world and the planet we share. #ChooseTheWorldYouWant

Here are three ways you can get involved in Fairtrade Fortnight 2021…

1. Teach about Fairtrade and the climate crisis

Download our new ‘Climate, Fairtrade and You’ Education Packs, containing everything you need to teach a topic on Fairtrade and climate during Fairtrade Fortnight 2021. These packs contain socially distanced assembly scripts, lesson plans, home learning grids, a quiz and information about the farmers who are impacted by the climate crisis. Our education packs for Primary schools and Secondary schools are packed full of fun, creative activities for learning at home or in the classroom.

2. Join our online festival

The Fairtrade Foundation is hosting a virtual online festival bringing together schools, universities, businesses, supporters, campaigners and farmers from across the world to choose the world they want this Fairtrade Fortnight. Visit the Choose the world you want Festival.

3. Share your vision of the world you want

Young people between the ages of 5 and 25 are invited to share their vision of the world they want for farmers and workers worldwide and the planet we share. Create your vision for the world you want, for the planet and everything on it, to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight 2021. Click here for more information on how to get involved.

4. Enjoy a virtual visit from a Fairtrade speaker

Although Fairtrade Foundation staff cannot come to visit your school in-person this Fairtrade Fortnight, we are delighted to be able to talk to your students virtually! Click here to access a virtual visit from a Fairtrade speaker.
